This is a can’t-miss daily tour, that follows the footsteps of ancient Greeks. Described by Homer as ‘the City of gold’, Mycenae promises to travel you to the Kingdom of mythical Agamemnon from the moment you enter the Acropolis through the legendary Lion Gate, a symbol of the power of the royal house of Mycenae. The city-state reached the height of its rule during the Late Bronze Age (1350 – 1200 BC). The surviving records and remaining monuments show Mycenae architecture was impressive as were their artifacts and their culture. The oldest ruling was traced as early as 1700 BC and the first monumental tombs were built at that time. Following in the footsteps of the Atreids, you can admire the “Cyclopean walls”, the famous “Treasury of Atreus”, the “Tomb of Clytemnestra”, the “Palace of the Atreids”, the burial mounds, to name but a few of the exciting remains that have earned Mycenae a place among the greatest towns in antiquity.

After Mycenae, our LIM Transport luxury vehicle will take us to the nearby coastal city of Nafplio. Also known as Naples of the East, Nafplio has rightfully earned the title of the perfect romantic getaway, mainly due to its Venetian architecture its cobbled squares, and towering castles, all of them paired with breathtaking views of the Argolic Gulf. Nafplio was an important seaport, already as of the medieval ages, and the first capital of Greece, right with the start of the revolution for independence from the Ottomans, back in 1821. We will have free time to wonder around this beautiful town, shop, have lunch or coffee, and unwind by the harbor.

Following a less than 30’ drive in our luxurious LIM Transport vehicle, we will get to the cradle of ancient Greece culture, the ancient theater of Epidaurus. In antiquity, Epidaurus was connected with the healing center of Asclepeion and is considered that it was one of the origins of medical science. The art of drama in Epidaurus was also connected with the healing of the human soul, the supreme beauty and moreover the elevation of the human spirit. The theater, built on the west side of Cynortion Mountain, near modern Lygourio, is considered to be the most perfect ancient Greek theatre with regard to acoustics and aesthetics. The monument retains the characteristic tripartite structure of a Hellenistic theatre that has a theatron, orchestra, and scene. Today in Epidaurus, modern artists organize newer versions of ancient tragedies, as well as the Festival of Epidaurus, also known as Epidavria. We have 1 hour to admire the ancient theater. After this memorable approximately 10-hour-long tour, we will return to the point of our departure in Athens, having really lived the myth of Greek antiquity.
