This is one of the most beautiful tours LIM Transport recommends for you. After picking you up from your desired location, we will take Athens coastal route, having the unique Riviera on our side.
Travelling in the luxury of our LIM Transport vehicle, we will pass one by one all the beautiful towns that lie by the seaside, where you will feel as being on an island. After a 1h30m drive we will arrive at our destination of Cape Sounio.
Here we will visit the renown Temple of Poseidon. This is an impressive ancient temple of unique architecture, that stands aloft the farthest south end of Attica peninsula, surrounded by the Saronic Gulf on one side and the openness of the Aegean on the other.
No other location could be more suitable for this temple of the God of Seas, which was built on the 5th century BC. Yet, this place is much more than just the Temple of Poseidon. Sounio is the cape where a mighty King of Athens was once waiting for his son to return from a dangerous expedition. This is the myth of King Aegeus, after who the Aegean was named, and his son, the legendary Theseus who freed Athenians from their sacrifices to the Minotaur. We will have the chance to unfold the myth details during our tour. By choosing the evening tour, you will get to experience the most breathtaking sunset in Athens. Leaving Cape Sounio and the Temple behind us, we will take our way back to Athens, swept away by the lifetime memories of this fulfilling day.
